The empty houses, businesses and schools of New Orleans hold a quiet stillness that's deceptive. A powerful story is told by the belongings and artifacts left behind. Seeing these objects brings an awareness of the brevity of life. Items can seem usual one day and take on new importance when found in the presence of loss.
